Online Books

This is a set of links to major online works we publish or are working on:

Pages From An Ozark Herbal
An online notebook of information on edible, medicinal, and otherwise useful plants from the Missouri Ozarks, with original sketches and photographs. The HTML version is accessible for free. We also [will shortly] sell a downloadable or CD-ROM version in PDF, HTML, and a couple of outline formats (Circus and Ponies' Notebook™ and OPML) with additional materials (including higher resolution photos). The download version can be synced to a Nook™ or pages from it to an iPod/iPhone™ (through Notebook) to take it with you. We are looking into providing paper copies through a Publish-On-Demand service (if you represent such a service, contact us).
The County Restoration Handbook
An effort through the Well-Fed Neighbor Alliance to arrange a binder of information tailored to each county in the US on how to transition to a more sustainable (ecologically, economically, and socio-politically) community structure, prepare for local or regional emergencies, and rebuild small and independent business in the US. This document is currently being authored in a Wiki (electronic community whiteboard) system. As the Wiki document matures, snapshots of the content will be taken for publication. The Misty Manor is heavily involved in this document and Cathi and I are primary editors. The Wiki is read-only to most folks, but if you want to work on it, let me know and you can be given write access to the site. Materials from this effort will be made available online, through a Publish-On-Demand system and possibly through iTunesU.
