 Pavillion Set Up for Regional War Practice 2008 Updated 1 time: It looks like we will be at the Society for Creative Anachronisms, Kingdom of Calontir Regional Fighter Practice this weekend (20-21 September). This is an international Medieval Reenactment group which will be holding a fighter practice including armored combat, archery, equestrian, some arts and sciences, and, of course, some merchants like us.
Update:The event went quite well. It was unusual for a large reenactment fighter practice that it had merchants and craft events as well. It was also unusual in having armored combat, archery, and equestrian practice, including the authorization of several new fighters for mounted armored combat.
We were in a crowd that is used to seeing hand-made and traditional products and is highly critical of quality and technique. We sold briskly the entire time, moving quite a bit of soap, some candles, and getting a couple of custom orders. Our business cards also disappeared at a good rate, but this might partially be due to the efforts of our little Marketing Director, Lisette. It rained just before the event and just briefly on the second night but the weather was otherwise fine. The Saxon Household was everywhere making sure things ran smoothly. This is probably something we will do again. |
