Handmade lye soap made from olive oil and a small amount of beeswax. Very mild and little scent. No scents, dyes, or other additives of any sort and is our most popular variety for people and children with sensitive skin. Good face soap or winter bath soap when you have dry skin. Light lather.
Sold by the ounce in rough cut bars (2-4 ounces is a good bar). We will match the number of bars to your requested weight as closely as possible. Store excess bars in a dry place away from light.
Castile soap is named for the Castilla region of Spain where some of the best olives were grown and the hard white soap, jabón de Castilia, was prized world wide since the 16th century.
We also grate this soap for use in the laundry, one quarter cup or less of fine-grated flakes to a load, dissolve in warm or hot water before adding clothes. Add borax for whitening and possibly a glop of white vinegar if you have hard water. We use it for mainly for baby clothes. Great for septic tanks or grey water systems where you want a completely natural, easy to break down soap.
